Our family is one of many in Seattle that raises backyard chickens - great eggs and a constant source of entertainment. I was asked to design + build some for the Seattle Farm Co-op, as they wanted to offer a locally made, artisan product to its membership. I designed this small footprint coop, that is very easy to clean, and easily fits six birds. It is constructed out of cedar with a metal shed roof on both the main house and external nesting box. It's called The Beach - a nod to Rainier Beach, where the Co-op is located. Also to the beautiful and vibrant Rainier Valley, where EAZ Inc. and our family resides. 10% of the purchase price of our chicken coops go to the Seattle Farm Co-op, to support the good work they do in the urban farming community.
